[of things in my past that i regret?]: I don't think I really have any regrets. I've done a lot of stupid things in my life (mostly as a teenager) but I really don't regret any of it. I'm thankful for everything I've been through because I've learned from everything. I wouldn't be the person I am today otherwise.

My latest obsession

Ok, so here's the deal.

I have a sickness.

I know I have it. Those that are close to me know I have it. It's bad.

I know I tend to get overexcited about things sometimes. That may be annoying to some, and so I apologize. But really that is just the way I am and I don't know that I can fix it. Nor do I really know if I want to fix it. It's makes me me. And "IT" is simply the fact that I tend to obsess over certain things. I don't know if it's directly related to what's going on in my life at the time, or the mood I happen to be in when I experience particular things, or what......but we are now (and when I say 'we', I of course mean me, and whoever cares to join me in my crazy little world) entering the phase of obsession that is, simply,

WICKED

And let me just say that I could not have asked for a better sister. Larilyn bought these tickets for us and I know she went through a lot of crap to get them. I'm so glad I have such a great sister!!!
So we went to see Wicked on Friday night at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. I love that theater.....I saw Beauty and the Beast there and Lion King, and I think something else, but I don't remember what it was. We had pretty good seats, so that was great.
If you don't know what Wicked is about,
A. have you been living in a cave for the last 3 years? and
B. it's the untold story about the witches from Oz and how they grew up and went to school together. It tells the story of how the Wicked Witch of the West became wicked.

Now I've been in love with the music from Wicked for a couple years. When it was nominated for several Tony's the year it came out they performed one of the main songs during the awards show and I was hooked. I got the soundtrack. I got the sheet music for the piano. I was really into the music for quite awhile, but it wore off, as most of my minor obsessions do.
But now it's back in full swing!
Wicked is the best thing.....EVER!
Really....to me, right now, it is. I even said last night that I would probably give up all my Nightmare Before Christmas collection to get front row tickets for this weekends performance. It is playing just through Sunday at that theater and then it's moving on. I have been checking ebay and craig's list constantly to see if anybody is foolish enough to sell tickets for less than $500 a pair. There's no way I could afford to go, and yet I keep hoping some miracle will happen. I've been listening to the soundtrack constantly in my car (except while my clients are in the car.....no sense in bothering others with my obsession), and I've been scouring the internet like a mad woman looking for any videos I can get my hands on.
I just paid $45 for two bootleg dvds....one with the original broadway cast and one with the cast that we saw here. And that's actually a bargain. The couple of other people I talked to wanted like $50 for one, and they said they weren't the best quality. So hopefully the ones I am getting will be fairly good.
And on the plus side, I have read that because of the high demand here in Southern California, they are bringing Wicked back to L.A. indefinitely starting in February. YAY!!! I'll probably be going to see it like once a month.

IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN WICKED YOU MUST SEE IT!!!!!

I promise you that you will not be sorry. It is FANTASTIC! The music is incredible and it is really funny. It is by far my favorite musical I have ever seen.
And yes, I love it even more than Chicago, which some know was my previous ridiculous obsession.

I really wish I knew why I was this way though. It gets kind of scary at times.
But I suppose there are worse things that could be wrong with me. haha

Well it's been almost a month, so I guess I better update. Plus I wouldn't want to have Amber be bored more than she needs to be. lol
Nothing all that exciting going on with my life. Same old boring stuff. I'm going through my bi-monthly (or so) routine of thinking about getting a new job. I'm getting annoyed with some of the things my boss has been doing lately and I get angry when I think about it too much (which I tend to do while I'm trying to sleep) So my natural angry conclusion is that it's time to find a new job. So then I come to my senses and realize that would be stupid since I love my job and just get annoyed from time to time. So now I'm just stressing about how I'm going to approach talking to my boss about my latest aggravation. *sigh* I'll get over it.

Larilyn and I are going to see Wicked this Friday!!! WOO HOO!! I've been wanting to see it for so long I can't believe it's actually happening. And then we are going to stay up in Orange County and go to Disneyland on Saturday morning. :) Good times. (that ones for you Amber) hehe

I've been going to a lot of movies the last few weeks.....so of course next will be my obligatory movie reviews:
The Devil Wears Prada.....EVERYBODY should see this movie! It is fantastic. I cannot wait for it to come out on dvd (which will probably be in like 2 weeks, knowing the way dvds have been lately) It is very funny and I think most everybody can relate to it at some point. I loved Meryl Streep in it....I even tolerated Anne Hatheway who I normally don't really like very much. GO SEE IT!
The Lake House....good old fashioned cheesy chick flick. It was cute. I'll probably buy it when it comes out on dvd (again, in like 2 weeks). Keanu Reeves was even tolerable in it.
Pirates of the Carribean.....really? Do I really have to tell you people how I felt about this movie?? I went to the midnight showing. I've seen it a second time since then. Jack Sparrow is hot. Need I say more? Didn't think so.
Nacho Libre....if you like Napoleon Dynomite, you will most likely love this movie. I did...but I'm silly like that. And sometimes I like to wear stretchy pants. Just for fun. lol XOxxOxoOxoX
Lady in the Water....very good movie. Not really scary though. The 'creature' in it freaked me out a bit, but other than that it wasn't scary at all. It actually was really funny, which was suprising, but very nice. M. Night Shamalamadingdong strikes again. :)
I think that's it.....there might be one more, but I can't think of what it would be. Must not have been that good then.....
And speaking of movies....they are suppose to be playing The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D at the El Capitan for Halloween this year..... YAY! :)

I guess that's it for now. In a couple of days I'll post one of those fill inthe blank things that I'll steal from Kerri (who apparantly stole from others).....I'll try not to let it go another month.
