weekend festivities

So of all weekends I had to be sick, it would of course be the one where I had a bunch of stuff going on. If I wasn't scared to death of such things I would have my doctor rip out my tonsils right now. I've had tonsillitis three times in the last three years now. Not a fun thing. I should buy stock in Zithromax.
When I came home from work on Friday (yes, I worked on Friday after going to the doctor on Thursday to get my antibiotics) my new computer was being delivered by the UPS guy. Excitement ensued....for about 5 minutes and then I went and crashed in my bed because I was exhausted. I don't remember doing much that night. I do remember looking at the Dell boxes sitting in the foyer and thinking "Hmmm...I should set up my new computer" but I never got up the energy.
So Saturday morning (when I finally got the energy to get out of bed) I set up my computer. It is WONDERFUL!!! My last computer was crap with a case over it that I bought at Fry's a couple years ago for a couple hundred dollars. I know, I know...you get what you pay for. It started acting weird a few months ago and freezes up whenever it feels like pissing me off. You know, like right after I've typed a big long blog like this and right before I push the save button. So it's so nice to have a normal computer again. And I got an upgrade to a 19" flat screen so that's really cool. :) I spent most the late morning/early afternoon goofing off with it.
Saturday afternoon I had the pleasure of going to Traci's parents house here in San Marcos to see her and Perry and Dexter. Of course I did have reason to go there....Traci, being the cool person that she is, had earlier in the week obtained an autographed copy of Corpse Bride for me. Her friend was at a Best Buy in West Hollywood where Tim Burton AND Danny Elfman were signing them. How totally cool is that?!?! So I went to pick that up from her. I got to meet her parents and spent some time visiting with everybody. Then I went to my old roommate's house where they were having a game night/party shindig. Good times, but I ended up staying a bit later than I had originally wanted to, so I ended up staying up a lot later than I should of considering I was sick.
Sunday was Paul's birthday, so I had been planning this party/get together thing for Sunday night for the last couple of weeks. So my cell phone was ringing CONSTANTLY all morning and afternoon. People getting directions/times/ideas for gifts/blah blah blah. I love my friends, and I love modern technology, but sometimes I just want to throw my phone out the car window while I'm driving over a bridge. Anyway, in between phone calls I ran a couple of errands and straightened up my room and did laundry. The party that night went pretty well. We had about 15 people show up for dinner at Red Robins. I'm sure the waitress hated us. But whatever....she was kind of annoying and wasn't all that great. I'm actually holding back my real opinion and being nice because I do realize there were 15 of us. But at one point she took away somebody's food when they weren't even done with it yet. Hello?
After everybody was done eating and drinking....and drinking......and then maybe drinking some more....and closing down the place, a few of us went out to Pechanga Indian Casino to, yes, drink some more and try to win some money. I told myself to only waste $20 on slots, and suceeded for a while. I actually won an extra $15 at one point....but being the idiot that I am, I kept going and ended up losing that and the $20 I started with and then an extra $5 since I have no self control. $25 really isn't that big a deal.....but it just sucks to lose. Plus I was still feeling like crap and there I was at 2 in the morning standing in the casino when I should have been home and in bed. The things I do for friends. ;)
Monday I was feeling a little bit better, which was great. I then preceeded to pretty much do nothing all day, which was even greater.
And the only thing better than a three day weekend is that there are only 4 work days before the next weekend.
And if anybody is still reading this, bless you. I'm sure not everybody gets as bored as I do and actually reads everybody else's blogs.

You are welcome LaRelle, how could I not think of you when I heard that my friends husband was there.

I guess I'm just nice that way. LOL!

Glad Paul had a great birthday and you got a chance to rest on Monday.
